Logos of some internship hosts Many of the most important policy decisions take place on the state level. You can be a part of this process by working at one of many organizations located throughout the country. Work in your home state or select another state with an organization specializing in your favorite issues.

"The Koch Summer Fellow Program really helped me expand my knowledge and strengthen my beliefs about free markets and liberty through interesting discussions and fun activities. I especially enjoyed my internship at a state-based think tank, where I gained valuable contacts and real world experience in public policy." – Jessica Johnson, Missouri State University

During your internship, you will help analyze regulations and influence legislation. You might also work on mobilization techniques using traditional tools and new media options such as blogs, podcasts, and social networking. You might help publish articles, editorials, or letters in state or local papers. The range of responsibilities depends on your host organization.
