This GivingTuesday Make FREEDOM Our Future

GivingTuesday is on
DECEMBER 3, 2024

In a moment when our most important freedoms hang in the balance, the Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) is ensuring that the intellectual foundation upon which our freedoms rest—individual rights, limited government, free markets, and the inherent dignity of every person—define the course of our future.

That is why, this GivingTuesday, we are asking you to join us and our community of thinkers to spark a new movement of political, economic, intellectual, and civic freedom.

For over 60 years, IHS has put the principles of liberty and human flourishing to work in the academy and beyond. Today, we count over 7,000 professors, policy experts, and thought leaders in the IHS community—the world’s most expansive network of intellectuals and doers advancing the ideas of freedom.

Our mission is to build a freer society rooted in the principles of liberty, where individuals can live free, peaceful, and productive lives. However, to achieve this, these principles need champions like you.

Your investment supports:

  • Research Grants for promising young scholars already making an impact in their field
  • Mentorships for graduate students, to connect them to freedom-focused faculty members
  • Educational Entrepreneurship Grants to support programming and teaching for undergraduate students centered on the principles of liberty and individual freedom

YOUR GENEROSITY AT WORK:

Investing in Rising Star Scholars

“IHS is the best research community I’ve found in my PhD studies so far. You are supporting a wonderful community helping researchers on the cutting edge develop connections that will advance the future of their fields.”

-Lorenzo Manuali
PhD Student in Philosophy
University of Michigan—Ann Arbor

Turning Back Government Overreach

“I probably wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today if it weren’t for my introduction to, and involvement, with IHS.”

-Mark Chenoweth, JD
President, New Civil Liberties Alliance

Sparking Students’ Passion for Liberty

“In my work with undergraduates I have noticed they eager for more discussion of [the ideas of liberty] and while I try to incorporate them as much as I can within our curriculum, students want more.”

-Bri Wolf, PhD
Asst. Professor of Political Theory
Michigan State University

You can help us overcome the dysfunction in higher education and ensure that freedom-focused ideas are heard beyond our universities and applied in the real world where they’re needed most.
