Alan Lockard

Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics

Alan Lockard earned his PhD in economics from George Mason University in 2001. He also holds degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Hartford, computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University, and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His publications include "Sortition," in The Encyclopedia of Public Choice, (Charles Rowley and Friedrich Sneider, eds., Kluwer Academic Publishers, forthcoming) and "Efficient Rent Seeking: Chronicle of an Intellectual Quagmire," edited with Gordon Tullock, (Boston: Kluwer, 2000). He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
