Ram Iyengar

Ram joined the Institute for Humane Studies as a Project Manager in August 2008. Prior to joining the IHS team, he worked as a Business Analyst for a technology firm at Reston, VA.

Originally from Mumbai, India, he earned his Bachelors in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bombay. He spent some time working as a Technical Services Engineer before completing his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University.

In pursuit of his longtime fascination with international conflict dynamics, he completed a Masters in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Ram’s primary research was focused on the effects of unemployment and natural resource constraints on conflict manifestation. His latest research project is titled ‘An Analysis of Women’s Involvement in Terrorism through a study of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam in Sri Lanka and the Maoist Rebels in Nepal,’ which he hopes to publish soon with the Regional Center for Security Studies in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Besides his deep passion for all things cricket, he loves going on long road trips, snorkeling and biking.
