Elaine Hawley

For more than 20 years Elaine has directed the Institute’s Harper Library and assisted with the Summer Graduate Research Fellowships.  In her current role, she manages the acquisition and distribution of more than 5,000 free books that IHS provides each year to students who participate in IHS programs.  The books support the Institute’s focus on interdisciplinary studies, including philosophy, history, economics, political theory, public policy, literature, and law. 

A graduate of the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), Elaine especially enjoys working with the talented, energetic, and dedicated IHS staff.
