Posts for Blog, Site, Email

We want our program descriptions to see the world. They’re sitting below, waiting to be placed on your blog or website, or to be zipped through cyberspace in an email to all your friends, classmates, and colleagues.  Thanks for promoting IHS programs!

Learning about or pursue a career in the ideas of liberty. The Institute for Humane Studies, founded in 1961 to achieve a freer society, supports students who share an interest in individual rights and free markets. IHS hosts weeklong summer seminar, sponsors internships, and awards fellowships. IHS offers many programs for students and recent graduates interested in careers in academia, public policy, journalism and film and media production.

SEMINARS

Summer Seminars
Sleep less, think more. That's our motto, and our summer seminars will really get you thinking about freedom, politics, and American society. Spend a week learning from enthusiastic professors and make new friends from all over the world. Seminar participation, including housing and books, is free.

INTERNSHIPS

Public Policy Internships
Learn about and influence public policy. The Koch Summer Fellow Program combines a paid public policy internship at a think tank or nonprofit with two weeklong career skills seminars and weekly policy lectures. Internships are available at more than 80 think tanks and nonprofits involved with state, federal, or single issue policy located across the United States.

Journalism Internships
Sharpen your writing skills and work with experienced journalists. The IHS Journalism Internship Program places talented writers in paid internships in print, broadcast, and investigative journalism. Placements are available at newspapers, media networks, and state-policy organizations and take place during the fall, spring and summer. The program includes a weeklong career workshop and mentoring.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Graduate and Undergraduate Studies
Humane Studies Fellowships are awards of up to $15,000 for current and prospective graduate students and outstanding undergraduates embarking on liberty-advancing careers. Open to students from a variety of disciplines, including law and journalism.
