Invitation-only, weekend-long conferences around the country. Rooted in the socratic method, these intense intellectual weekends are based around discussions about ideas, questions, and challenges presented by advanced readings in classical liberal texts.

IHS Career Development Seminars are designed to teach graduate students how to land jobs in academia, gain tenure, and make their academic careers a success. These invitation-only seminars will focus on building career skills, including public speaking, interviewing, and how to get published.

Advance your career while advancing liberty! Intern at an organization focused on state, single-issue, or federal policy, and start and finish the program with career and policy seminars.

Junior faculty are given the opportunity to present their research papers to distinguished panels of scholars during these day-long workshops. Two experts comment on the research and provide valuable feedback.

Graduate students and young faculty: receive up to $750 to attend a professional conference or an academic job interview, conduct research, or participate in a career development seminar.

Scholarships of up to $15,000 for students embarking on liberty-advancing careers in ideas. All disciplines eligible. Open to graduate students and limited number of undergraduates. Deadline: December 31

The IHS Journalism Internship Program places talented writers and communicators at media companies and non-profit newsrooms. Past interns have worked at 20/20, the The Orange County Register, Reason.TV, Fox News, and many other organizations. Internships occur during the spring, summer, and fall. Program includes seminar and job placement assistance.

The Law Scholars Conference brings together a small group of leading law students who are interested in academic careers in law. Students learn about the relationship between liberty and the law, while learning how to secure a teaching post at a law school and how to achieve tenure.

A conference on classroom techniques and incorporating classical liberal concepts into a curriculum while maintaining a balanced, open discussion. Open to advanced graduate students and faculty.
