Continuing IHS’s legacy of catalyzing discipline-shaping ideas, this year’s Scholarship & a Free Society program will support the next wave of influential thinkers contributing to the classical liberal intellectual tradition by bringing them together with current leading scholars in their fields.

Invitation-only, weekend-long conferences around the country. Rooted in the socratic method, these intense intellectual weekends are based around discussions about ideas, questions, and challenges presented by advanced readings in classical liberal texts.

IHS Career Development Seminars are designed to teach graduate students how to land jobs in academia, gain tenure, and make their academic careers a success. These invitation-only seminars will focus on building career skills, including public speaking, interviewing, and how to get published.

Advance your career while advancing liberty! Intern at an organization focused on state, single-issue, or federal policy, and start and finish the program with career and policy seminars.

Junior faculty are given the opportunity to present their research papers to distinguished panels of scholars during these day-long workshops. Two experts comment on the research and provide valuable feedback.

The Friedman Faculty Fund awards grants of up to $5000 to full-time faculty and teaching fellows for education-enhancement activities designed to engage undergraduate and master’s students with the ideas of liberty, beyond the classroom.

The Harper Internship Program invites interns into the core of the DC liberty movement, providing in-depth experience with a variety of IHS departments. Interns receive a competitive stipend, ongoing educational opportunities, and unique professional experience contributing to one of the movement’s oldest and most successful organizations.

The Hayek fund awards career development grants of up to $750 for students and untenured scholars for career-advancing activities.

Increase your chances of being accepted to grad school! With the Hayek Fund for Future Scholars you could be reimbursed for up to $300 of your graduate shcool application fees. Eligible participants must be applying for a full-time doctorate or master's degree program, havedemonstrated interest in individual and economic freedom, and strong shown academic potential.

Scholarships of up to $15,000 for students embarking on liberty-advancing careers in ideas. All disciplines eligible. Open to graduate students and limited number of undergraduates. Deadline: December 31
