IHS collects personal information on a voluntary basis in the form of visitor profiles, site registrations, program applications, and/or survey information. This may include mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, education information, and interests. In addition, IHS collects general information about pages visited or accessed.

The information collected is used internally to improve and customize web content and to contact and update consumers who requested information. This information is never sold or shared with organizations for commercial purposes.

The Institute for Humane Studies approaches our Internet communications with respect for and commitment to individual privacy. Text reminders

The Institute for Humane Studies uses a third party service called Tatango to assist in providing text message reminders.  If you opt for us to provide you with text message reminders, standard text message and data carrier rates may apply.

When you opt to receive messages, phone numbers are stored in our system and provided to Tatango to assist in fulfilling the request, help us analyze the usefulness of the offering, and to maintain the list of people who opt out of the SMS alerts after receiving a text.   The particular service, how it works, and the services performed may vary over time.

We collect information for this service only with your consent, and use it consistent with the policies of our third party provider. You may unsubscribe from receiving a particular set of messags, and we will make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure you do not receive such messages unless you subscribe again.  Due to the existing legal and technical environment, we cannot ensure that your personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to third parties in ways not described in this policy.
