Poverty & Prosperity Seminar
July 12 - 18, 2008
Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA)

Join us for a week of challenging, intellectual lectures and ongoing discussion at our Poverty & Prosperity seminar.

What are the necessary conditions for a free and prosperous society? On the other hand, what conditions lead to corrupt institutions and abject poverty? Take a closer look at the ebbs and flows of civil society and explore the ideas, individuals, and organizations who have historically played a part in the alleviation of poverty.

At this seminar, explore the role that markets, communities, and governments have played in the emergence of poverty and prosperity in our world and throughout history. Analyze how these institutions have influenced international trade, development, labor standards, education, and more.

To get a better idea of what will be taking place at this seminar, take a look at A Typical Day (or watch our Typical Day at a Seminar Video on YouTube), a few members of our Faculty, and some Recommended Readings.
