Director of Foundations Strategy

The Mercatus Center at George Mason University and its sister organization, the Institute for Humane Studies (IHS), seek a Director of Foundations Strategy to join a fast-paced and growing development team. Ideal candidates will have professional development experience with a track record of results and a demonstrated ability to take on significant responsibilities. These include:

  • Researching prospective and current foundation interests and giving
  • Initiating proposal strategy discussions with foundation staff and Mercatus/IHS principals
  • Management of grant writer
  • Editing of all foundation related proposals
  • An appreciation for the missions of each organization is a must. Candidates must also be detail-oriented, have excellent written communication skills, be entrepreneurial, and appreciate teamwork. The Director of Foundations Strategy will have a high level of responsibility over his/her projects and must be a self-starter.

Management experience and the willingness to travel is a requirement for this position.

Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
