Talent Process Assistant or Coordinator
The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) at George Mason University seeks an entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and fiercely deadline-driven Talent Process Coordinator/Assistant to join our team. Under the supervision of the Director of Talent Management, this position will be responsible for driving a variety of projects and processes that help IHS execute core functions.
Key projects include, but may not be limited to:
- Coordinating the design and review of IHS program applications
- Managing IHS’s processes for capturing referrals from staff, faculty, and allies for IHS programs, and for referring talent to suitable non-IHS opportunities of value
- Driving IHS’s formal and informal processes for mentoring talented young people into liberty-advancing careers, including the IHS Mentoring Program
- Administering database protocols and ensuring that IHS maintains superior data quality
- Assisting with both program-specific and organization-wide measurement tasks
- Reading and reviewing applications to select IHS programs
- Coordinating the development of new processes to solve organizational challenges, building consensus among staff and executing timely and high-quality implementation
This role interacts regularly with many IHS team members across a variety of departments and programs. Essential qualifications include the ability to drive complex projects to successful completion, set and meet intermediate deadlines, and build consensus across program teams. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills are a must! Additionally, some responsibilities require frequent use of data-intensive software such as Microsoft Excel and IHS’s customer database, so extreme comfort with and/or willingness to quickly learn new data skills is necessary. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, be extremely detail-oriented, understand the value of shared knowledge and teamwork in arriving at better solutions, and hold an appreciation for the classical liberal intellectual tradition. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated professional experience reflecting the above qualifications.
This is an entry-level (assistant) or mid-level (coordinator) position depending on the candidate’s experience and skill set. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
