Manager of Advanced Programs
Yana Chernyak is the Manager of Advanced Programs at The Institute for Humane Studies. She works with staff across the organization on planning and hosting the Advanced Topics in Liberty conferences. The Advanced Topics in Liberty program is a series of unique weekend-long conferences for students and professionals co-sponsored with Liberty Fund, Inc. These invitation-only programs center on informal, yet serious, discussion with just fifteen participants, on a topic related to the idea of a free society.
Yana earned a BA in Political Science and French with a minor in Economics from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. While at F&M, she spent spring break at a Liberty and Society seminar in 2008 and subsequently attended an Advanced summer seminar on The Tradition of Liberty in 2010.
Yana grew up in the DC area and previously worked in health care consulting in downtown DC and a start-up in Bangalore, India. She was born in Russia, interned at a free-market think tank in France, and enjoys traveling, culinary adventures, and getting lost in literature in her spare time.
