The Mercatus Center and Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University are seeking candidates for a part-time (20 hours per week) Development intern for the summer.

The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) and the Mercatus Center at George Mason University seek a grant writer for the organizations’ shared development department. This integral position is vital to the growth and success of IHS and Mercatus, both of which are playing a lead role in movement for liberty.

The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) seeks an experienced professional to initiate, coordinate, and drive the identification, evaluation, and selection of top talent for open positions (including internships) at IHS. In addition to hiring processes, the HPD director owns all orientation, training, and performance-evaluation processes. By developing and maintaining professional, innovative hiring and professional-development practices, the HPD director ensures that IHS has a competitive advantage in attracting, retaining, and cultivating the very best talent, resulting in a productive, vibrant workplace and an organization that is highly effective in advancing its mission. This is a critical role that reports directly to IHS’s vice president/COO and serves the needs of a $10.6 million organization with more than 70 staff members.

Want to intern in Washington, DC this summer? Work with individuals who are advancing the ideas of free-markets and individual rights? IHS is looking for full-time interns for summer 2012. The 10-week internship begins on June 4, 2012 and runs through August 10, 2012 (dates are negotiable to a modest degree).  Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2012.

The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) seeks a self-starting, entrepreneurial person to develop new content for the Learn Liberty project. Learn Liberty is a new educational project at IHS which aims to reach millions of students online with short videos that clearly communicate the ideas of classical liberal/libertarian thought.
