Nonprofit Leadership Internships

Are you interested in public policy and freedom but can't imagine yourself as a policy analyst or politician? Are you more interested in entrepreneurship, leadership, and management?

Now in its third year, the Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program has a program track geared towards college students, young professionals, and law students who are interested in careers in management at think tanks and nonprofit policy organizations.

The Management Fellow track provides fellows with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills to pursue a career in nonprofit management. An essential component of this track is placement in an apprenticeship at a DC-area policy organization to learn the ropes of operations and strategy in a think tank/nonprofit organization. Through the apprenticeship, fellows develop essential skills for a management career by learning from top managers in the field.

As a Koch Management fellow, you will attend classes and workshops on management, in addition to seminars on public policy. We will also provide valuable career workshops in public speaking, media interviewing, and writing.

Most importantly, you will develop a useful network of contacts in the nonprofit and policy world. Your contacts will be able to assist you with starting an organization, finding funding sources, management advice, finding management positions, or creating partnerships.

Past alums of the Koch Summer Fellow Program have gone on to establish or serve in management positions at nonprofits in the U.S. (Institute for Justice, Mercatus Center, Pacific Research Institute, Tennessee Policy Research Center) and abroad (Globalisation Institute, Center for Institutional Analysis and Development.)  With the career training, hands-on experience, and network of contacts you obtain through the Koch Summer Fellow Program, you will be better able to advance your career in nonprofit management!

If you are interested in this exciting and unique opportunity, apply for the Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program and indicate your interest in the Management Fellow program track.
