Ryan Hanley’s primary research interest is the Enlightenment, particularly in the work of David Hume, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Adam Smith. His current projects are a study of Hume’s political philosophy and a philosophical history and analysis of love. Dr. Hanley’s perennial interest in the intersection of moral psychology and politics led to his book, Adam Smith and the Character of Virtue. »
