Peter Klein is an assistant professor of agribusiness in the Department of Agricultural Economics and associate director of the Contracting and Organizations Research Institute (CORI) at the University of Missouri. His research focuses on the boundaries and internal organization of the firm, with applications to diversification, innovation, and financial institutions. He teaches courses on industrial economics, microeconomics, and network economics.
Professor Klein has edited two books: Entrepreneurship and the Firm: Austrian Perspectives on Economic Organization (Edward Elgar, 2002) (with Nicolai J. Foss) andThe Fortunes of Liberalism: Essays on Austrian Economics and the Ideal of Freedom, vol. 4 of The Collected Works of F. A. Hayek (University of Chicago Press and Routledge, 1992).
He has also published in journals, including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Economic Inquiry, and Applied Economics. Before joining the University of Missouri, Columbia's faculty, he was a professor at the University of Georgia.
Professor Klein earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
