Avery Rome

Avery Rome is projects editor for the Philadelphia Inquirer, where she has worked for more than 20 years. For 11 years, from 1992 to 2003, she was editor of Inquirer Magazine, until it ceased publication. During her tenure the magazine received over 200 awards for writing, reporting, design, illustration and photography, including a Pulitzer Prize finalist for photography. Stories she edited have won over 35 awards, including a Pulitzer Prize finalist for best feature writing. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College, an adjunct instructor at the University of Pennsylvania.
