Sharpen your journalism skills during a paid internship in print or broadcast journalism during the fall, spring, or summer.
The IHS Journalism Internship Program offers internships at newspapers, major media networks and state-based policy organizations for students who support individual rights and free markets. Past interns have worked at 20/20, the Orange County Register, CNN, Fox News, and many other companies and organizations.
The deadline to apply for a fall internship has passed.
Applications for spring internships will be available in mid-August, and the deadline is November 15, 2009.

Choose from three internship tracks:
Newspaper: Work in the newsroom of a daily newspaper. Interns will publish twenty clips or more. Learn more »
Broadcast Journalism: Work with an experienced producer at a major media network or news production house. Learn more »
Investigative Journalism: Develop your research and analytical skills working under the guidance of a professional investigative journalist at a state-based public policy organization. Learn more »
As part of the internship program, you’ll attend a weeklong, summer journalism workshop during the summer of 2010. You’ll get career advice from experienced journalists, learn economic tools for understanding political and economic issues, and explore the foundations of a free press. IHS provides travel assistance to the workshop.
We're looking for skilled writers passionate about liberty. Previous experience is a plus but not required. We encourage students from all disciplines, including political science and economics, to apply. Undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors are eligible.
A Comprehensive Program
- $3,200 stipend for an eight-week internship

Summer Journalism Workshop
The internship program includes participation at our summer journalism workshop, but you can also separately apply for the workshop. At the workshop, you'll learn about journalism and classical liberal ideas, network with other aspiring journalists and hear lectures from experienced professionals.
