Movie, Film, TV, Animation, and Video Game Development
Want to fly to LA and work on a feature film? Dig into a freedom-oriented, social-issue documentary? Help produce an upcoming television comedy? Or maybe you prefer CGI, animation or video game development? The Institute for Humane Studies Production Internship Program places interns in all these areas at production companies during the fall, spring and summer.
The deadline to apply for a fall internship has passed.
Applications for spring internships will be available in mid-August, and the deadline is November 15, 2009.
• Sign up to be notified when the spring application is available.
• Add the spring deadline (Nov 15) to your calendar.
• Join our Facebook group to receive updates.
Program benefits typically include:
- $2,000 stipend for a ten-week internship
- Housing and travel allowance
- Tuition plus travel assistance for our summer workshop, Cinematic & Literary Traditions of Liberty (open to fall, spring, and summer interns)
- Free books, including academic works on economics, history, and philosophy
- Networking opportunities
The Production Internship Program runs year-round with separate deadlines for the Spring, Summer, and Fall internships. We offer positions from five to twenty weeks at host firms. If you are currently in school, you can be considered for a part-time internship that would work around your courseload.
Since film industry opportunities often arise irrespective of the university calendar, you can increase your options for placement by applying as soon as you know your availability. Our online application makes applying quick and easy. After completing the short registration process, you can post your answers to our short essay questions and upload the required supporting materials.
Internships are available in major media centers across the United States. We accept interns of all ages and experience levels, and international applicants with a visa status that allows US employment.
