Summer Deadline: February 15

The typical daily tasks of an IHS Production Intern differ depending on a variety of factors, including intern’s experience level and a host firm’s project needs. Responsibilities could include:

  • Editing a film using Final Cut Pro (and getting credit for it)
  • Performing research for future film projects
  • Watching film submissions and reviewing scripts.
  • Assisting with film marketing or distribution
  • Participating in a live-action production

Testimonials from past IHS Production Interns:

Production_Set_Screens“Getting access to a bunch of really awesome films and filmmakers has been wonderful. My editing skills are getting better, and I am learning a lot about short films by watching and talking about them all day long. This is a great internship (WolphinDVD) for creative types who are also willing to bust their tail to get their ideas done. Time will tell if I fit that description.”

“I was involved with post production editing throughout. I personally interviewed two university professors on separate occasions.  The topic for each centered on their expertise on the economy. I also was able to participate in camera work during shoots, and became well versed with HD Video and lighting.”

“I love the script library at Focus! I think it's really built up my writing skills and reinforced some key principles of the craft, just by seeing what doesn't work. I would definitely recommend Focus Features for any screenwriters. The library alone is worth it.”

”The atmosphere was very relaxed.  It was always a matter of what you got done, not how you did it. The knowledge of creating content that was inspiring and insightful was important to me as well.  It has always been my goal to make a positive contribution through the art of media, and at Reason.tv I felt as if I was doing just that.”

”I had much autonomy and responsibility, my ambition was respected and taken seriously, my input into story editing was valued, I received constructive criticism of my performance and useful evaluation, and there was a general atmosphere of collaboration.”
