Fall Internship Deadline: July 1, 2010 (Application online in March)

Investigative JournalismThe Institute for Humane Studies is proud to announce the addition of an Investigative Journalism track to its Journalism Internship Program. The new track is for print journalists seeking challenging, investigative writing assignments at state-level, public policy think tanks. The internships take place during the spring, summer, and fall.

Working under the guidance and supervision of a professional investigative journalist, you’ll sharpen your writing, research and analytical skills while learning how to investigate government programs. You’ll leverage the resources and knowledge base of the think tank to provide a free-market perspective to readers and government officials.

As part of the internship program, you'll also participate in our Journalism & the Free Society summer workshop at Bryn Mawr College. At the workshop, you’ll learn market-based tools to understand today's most important political and social problems and receive career advice from experienced journalists.

A Comprehensive Program

  • Eight-week internship with a $3,200 stipend and a travel allowance (interns must obtain their own room and board)
  • Participation in a week-long professional workshop, Journalism & the Free Society
  • Mentoring from industry professionals

If you wish to be considered for the investigative track, please select that track on your application.
