The Institute for Humane Studies offers several advanced academic programs. These programs are by invitation only, for scholars who have previously attended IHS summer seminars and/or received funding through IHS's fellowship programs.
Junior faculty are given the opportunity to present their research papers to distinguished panels of scholars during these day-long workshops. Two experts comment on the research and provide valuable feedback.
Career development seminars are designed to teach graduate students how to land jobs in academia, gain tenure, and make their academic careers a success. Seminars focus on invaluable career skills, including public speaking, interviewing, and how to get published.
The Law Scholars Conference brings together a small group of leading law students who are interested in academic careers in law. Students learn about the relationship between liberty and the law, while learning how to secure a teaching post at a law school and how to achieve tenure.
